Who would have guessed that a small gift shop opened in 1990 in Nathon would become not only one of Samui’s leading luxury furniture suppliers but also the island’s foremost interior design consultants. Afterall, any successful business must start from humble beginnings.
This is true of the small Nathon shoplot that quickly expanded to become “Oriental Gallery” in one of the first commercial buildings on the Chaweng beach road. By 1993 the gallery was such a hit with the tourists it further expanded by taking over the restaurant next door. For almost a decade the successful Oriental Gallery was operating a winning formula of both an Asian art gallery and busy restaurant in the heart of Chaweng.
As the Chaweng lease finished in 2003, the business rebranded to “Oriental Living” and relocated to Maenam to cater to the booming real estate market on the island. (which has since become the focus hub for luxury furniture in Samui. Coincidence?)
As the team started to sell more furniture, they found a niche in creating their own individual designs utilising materials and craftsmen across Thailand and Indonesia, setting the Oriental Living brand apart from its peers.
At the same time, the galler y always maintained an extensive collection of Asian Art , both antique and contemporary, catering to luxur y villa owners and hotels requiring custom-made furniture solutions. Our ethos of great design, quality materials and after sales ser vice are our proven successful brand pillars.
By 2011 we further expanded to Phuket Laguna and which was an instant success. Aspiring for a similar visible location on Samui, we found the perfect space opposite Big C to launch our newest concept, by offering more furniture and accessories at sharper prices with the all new “Loft by Oriental Living” showroom.
At Loft you will find the same high quality furniture, at affordable prices. While we source the same great designs and quality materials, of course the maintaining our famous personal customer service at the core of our brand values. Launching in August 2016, Loft will be a great addition to the current showroom in Maenam that will remain open for business as usual.
